Parent / Guardian Code of Conduct
- Parents/Guardians recognize that Dance Surge classes operate in the safest manner by teachers and assistants. Parents/Guardians agree that their child/children are in good physical condition to participate in dance and fitness classes at Dance Surge. Parents/Guardians will disclose all medical information, allergies and, or injuries for their child/children on the Registration Form and provide updates when necessary.
- Parents/Guardians agree that enrolment at Dance Surge is complete when tuition is paid in full with a non-refundable deposit, authorized post-dated payments, and a signed registration form. Parents/Guardians fully understand that there is a risk of injury and therefore release Dance Surge and its dance teachers from any liability. In the event of a returned cheque Parent/Guardians understand that a $25.00 Administration Fee will apply. Full payment must be made within 7 days in order for your child to be allowed to attend class.
- Parent/Guardian will not enter the dance class unless they are invited in by the teacher. Parent/Guardian will not interrupt any class while it is in progress. Disruption to any class is unfair to the teacher and dancers. Instead parents/guardians will approach the office staff to set any appointments with the artistic director of Dance Surge.
- If a child is unable to dance due to illness or injury, Parent/Guardian will write Dance Surge a note providing the details. The office staff will then forward the message to the appropriate teacher and record it in the studio files.
- Parents/Guardians are expected to respect all Dance Surge staff. Parent/Guardian will not exhibit a negative attitude or an action that is intended to provoke hostility. Parents/Guardians understand and accept the consequences of their own actions, behaviours, and choices.
- Parents/Guardians realize that flash photography and videotaping are not permitted during the year or at the recitals in the professional theatre. The only opportunity for flash photography and video taping is during OPEN HOUSE in December.
- Parents/Guardians must monitor younger siblings while at the studio to ensure that they do not run around the halls, interrupt classes, injure themselves or other dancers, or cause additional mess. Parents/Guardians accept full responsibility for the damages created by unsupervised children.
- Parents/Guardians understand that it is their responsibility to look through and find any items in the lost and found.
- Parents/Guardians will communicate any complaints to the director of Dance Surge. Once documented Dance Surge will respond within 7 to 10 days.
